This is a question we hear a lot at New LifeStyles. The answer is: It depends on what “that” is… Is it a Retirement Community, Assisted Living, Home Care, Nursing Care or Hospice?
Most seniors make the decision to move to an independent living retirement community on their own. Rather they are ready to downsize and have fewer chores, their friends have moved to a really nice community, or their spouse has passed and they need a change. If a senior seems overwhelmed by their current situation, or they are lonely, consider scheduling lunch at a local retirement community, they may make the decision on their own once they see a carefree lifestyle.
A senior is ready for assisted living or home care when they need help with daily activities and personal care such as bathing, dressing, cooking, housekeeping, driving, etc… Help is available in many forms, from companionship, transportation & household chores to personal care. If the senior wants to stay in their home, home care is an option. Otherwise assisted living is available in residential home settings or in larger communities with numerous amenities.
Home Health Care, Nursing Care & Hospice are all doctor ordered. So as long as the senior continues to see their doctor(s) regularly, you can address any problems as they arise.
Whatever the need, when it is time, New LifeStyles offers a comprehensive list of all options.
